Goal Achievement
Goal setting. Everyone talks about it, but few people actually do it. Why? Because most goals that people set are just fantasies—they don't unconsciously believe they can be different than they are.
Goal Setting and goal achievement are worlds apart for most people.
There's a reason.
People's Area-of-the-Possible
Each person has through their responses to their life experiences and circumstances developed two powerful internal beliefs. Their:
- Area-of-the-possible
- Area-of-the-impossible
These deep beliefs, whether true or false, then created all their actions, feelings, behavior, and abilities. Notice the following model.
People unconsciously engineer all their choices and actions to be consistent with their accepted area-of-the-possible. People will not reach new goals, until their inner area-of-the-possible is expanded. This is an experiential rather than an intellectual process.

Inner Needs and Beliefs Control Goal Achievement
Not only do people’s beliefs control their goal achievement, but their inner needs do also. Their “needs” being those solutions they seek to help them cope with life's present circumstances, and reach our desired level of achievement. Whatever need level they're on will determine the following beliefs or views:
- How we view money
- What we want money for
- How we define success
- What we perceive will fill our needs
- What level of financial success we feel worthy to enjoy
- How we view ourselves and our possibilities
- What level of goals we feel comfortable setting
- With whom we feel comfortable associating
- What life rewards we feel we deserve to enjoy
When you understand “need levels” you'll know one of the deepest mysteries of financial freedom or goal achievement; because financial freedom is interpreted differently for people in each need level.

Understanding the Model
The following points will help you understand the model: what's motivating your people, as well as what new goals they'll perceive to be realistic or unrealistic.
- People are motivated by needs, wants, and values—for hope of gain and relief of pain.
- Whatever need level they're on, they're primarily concerned with satisfying that specific one and blinded to higher or lower ones.
- They can be on different need levels in different parts of their lives; but areas with the lowest need levels will usually dominate their thinking and demand greater attention.
- When a need level is satisfied, they'll automatically move to the next higher one.
- Their goals will be unconsciously screened out unless they address their present need levels.
- Their goals should be focused to satisfy their current levels which will then automatically move them to the next higher ones.
